Earlier this week Sony released a minor firmware update for the PS4, updating the system software to v2.04. The firmware update is mandatory and weights in a just under 300 MB. If you haven’t booted up your console in the last few days, you’ll be promoted to install the update when you do.
EU PlayStation Store Update for February 18th 2015
New content is available on the European PlayStation Store, with six new PS4 games added, three new PS3 games and two new PS Vita games. Also, to celebrate the PS Vita’s third birthday, you can save up to 50% off on various titles. New games this week include Q*Bert: Rebooted and The Order: 1886.
The Order: 1886 Launch Trailer Released
Tomorrow, The Order: 1886 will finally launch around the world. Developed by Ready at Dawn and SCE Santa Monica Studio, the game is exclusive to the PS4 and set in an alternative reality London. The launch trailer for the game has been released today, giving you a taste of what to expect tomorrow.
Project CARS Delayed Yet Again
Project CARS has been delayed yet again according to Slightly Mad Studios. The game was originally set for release in November 2014, but was delayed to March 20th 2015. It has now beed delayed again, but only by a few weeks. The reason for the second delay is to make “final adjustments in the game”.
US PlayStation Store Update for February 10th 2015
New content is available on the US PlayStation Store this week, with five new PS4 games, four new PS3 games and three new PS Vita game. New games include Evolve (PS4, including day-one DLC), Minutes (cross-buy with PS Vita) and Super Stardust Ultra. You can also find new pre-orders and new titles on PlayStation Now.
PlayStation Plus Multiplayer Open Weekend Starts This Friday
If you have a PS4 but haven’t purchased a PlayStation Plus subscription, you’ll be happy to know that Sony is having a Open Weekend this week. The Open Weekend begins on 13th February at 6.00am GMT/7.00am CET, and will give you free access to online multiplayer with compatible games.
PSN Maintenance Scheduled for Thursday, 12th February 2015
Sony has announced that the PlayStation Network will be undergoing scheduled maintenance this Thursday, 12th February 2015 for approximately three and a half hours. The maintenance will begin at 5pm GMT / 9am PST and will last until 8:30pm GMT / 12:30pm PST.
Dying Light DLC Release Date Revealed
Techland has announced the release date for first the DLC for Dying Light, along with release windows for the following two DLC packs. The first pack is titled ‘Cuisine and Control’ and will be releasing in North America today, followed by Europe tomorrow (February 11th 2015). The DLC will be exclusive to Season Pass holders.
Resident Evil Becomes Fastest Selling Digital Title in Capcom’s History
Capcom has confirmed that the recently released remake of Resident Evil has become it’s fastest selling digital title in history across North America and Europe. The game, which launched on January 20th, has also broken the PlayStation Network record for the fastest selling day one digital title.
GTA V Has Shipped Over 45 Million Copies to Stores
Grand Theft Auto V is doing extremely well in retail, with develop reporting that publisher Take-Two has shipped a over 45 million copies to retail, including 10 million units for PS4 and Xbox One. The PC version of the game is expected to release on March 24th, which will further boost sales.
