The US has received a massive PlayStation Store update in the run-up to E3. Ten new PS4 games, two new PS3 games and three new PS Vita games have been added to the store along with plenty of new DLC. New games this week include Mirror’s Edge Catalyst (PS4) and SteamWorld Heist (PS4, PS Vita).
PAL PlayStation Store Chart for May 2016
It’s no surprise that May’s most downloaded game from the PlayStation Store was Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End. The game sold over 2.7 million units in the first week and was the top selling digital title on the PlayStation Store in May 2016. Other new entries like Overwatch: Origins Edition and Doom debuted in 4th and 9th place, respectively.
EU PlayStation Store Update for 7th June 2016
New content is available on the European PlayStation Store this week with something for everyone to enjoy. There are thirteen new PS4 games available for purchase this week, including SteamWorld Heist, Mirror’s Edge Catalyst and Sherlock Holmes : The Devil’s Daughter. You can also find three new PS3 games and two new PS Vita games.
Crystal and Steel Black DualShock 4 Controllers Launch in July
Sony has announced that two new coloured DualShock 4 wireless controllers are launching in July for the PS4 in Europe. Crystal, Steel Black, Gold and Silver editions will all be available from 11th July, as part of a limited edition Crystal & Metallic range.
World of Final Fantasy Coming to PS4 and PS Vita in October 2016
Square Enix has announced that World of Final Fantasy will be releasing on the PS4 and PS Vita this October. In World of Final Fantasy, players lead a pair of twins, Reynn and Lann, through the land of Grymoire on a search to rediscover their lost memories.
PS4 Has Sold 40 Million Units Worldwide
Last month, Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) announced that the PS4 has cumulatively sold through more than 40 million units to consumers worldwide as of May 22, 2016, continuing to demonstrate the fastest-selling console in PlayStation history.
Final Fantasy XII is Coming to PlayStation 4 in 2017
Square Enix has announced that PS2 title Final Fantasy XII will be remastered in HD for the PS4. The title will be called Final Fantasy XII The Zodiac Age and will release sometime in 2017. The game will feature higher resolution visuals and cutscenes, 7.1 surround sound and much faster load times.
No Man’s Sky Now Releasing on August 10th 2016
No Man’s Sky was recently delayed, with Hello Games stating that “some key moments needed extra polish to bring them up to our standards.” As a result, the game will miss it’s original release date of 24th June 2016, and will now be releasing on August 9th 2016 in North America, and 10th August 2016 in Europe and the UK.
The Tomorrow Children Open Beta Starts Tomorrow
An open beta for The Tomorrow Children on the PS4 will begin tomorrow morning, Q-Games has announced. The beta will start on Friday, 6th June at 9am BST, and will last for 72 hours. The beta client is already available to download from the PlayStation Store, letting you pre-load the game before the beta starts.
EU PlayStation Store Update for 31st May 2016
This week’s European PlayStation Store update includes a large number of new PS4 games, with 15 new games available for purchase. New PS4 games include Dead Island Definitive Collection and Valkyria Chronicles Remastered. You can also find a couple of new PS Vita games, and new DLC for titles including The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and Hitman.
