Sony is keen to demonstrate that the PlayStation VR is not just a gaming device, and has revealed a number of virtual reality experiences and video services that are accessible using the PlayStation VR, which releases later this week. In a blog post, Sony states “games aren’t the only software that will be available for your new headset – you’ll also be able to download a number of virtual reality ‘experiences’ and video services.”
Gravity Rush 2 Has Been Delayed Until January 2017
Japan Studio has revealed that Gravity Rush 2 (or Gravity Daze 2 as it’s known in Japan) has been delayed to early 2017. Back in July, a release date of 2nd December was revealed, but it now appears that this date was too ambitious. To compensate fans for the delay, DLC for the game will be released free of charge.
SNOW PS4 Beta Begins on 18th October
Free to play PS4 title, SNOW, will be going into beta later this month, giving PS4 owners to hit the slope – but at a cost. The beta will cost $19.99 to join, but you’ll get over $30 of in-game content and some exclusive items as part of the Founder’s Pack in return. However, the founder’s pack will only be released to beta players when the full game launches, for which there is no specific date.
EU PlayStation Store Update for 4th October 2016
New content is available on the European PlayStation Store including fifteen new PS4 games and a handful of new add-on content. This is also the first PlayStation Store update for October, and that means new content has been added for PlayStation Plus subscribers too. New games this week include Warhammer: End Times, Outlast 2 Demo and WRC 6 FIA World Rally Championship.
PS4 System Software Ver. 4.01
Sony has just released a new minor firmware update for the PS4, improving the system’s stability. The update is 297 MB in size, but only offers stability improvements. The PS4’s major v4.0o update was released last month, which made a number of changes to the system – this update presumably fixes some bugs in that update.

The PlayStation VR releases in less than two weeks on 13th October 2016, but if you can’t wait, check out the official unboxing video from Sony below. The bundle includes the VR headset and processor unit, wired stereo headphones, all required cabling and the PS VR Demo Disc.
Existing Driveclub Season Pass Holders Can Upgrade to VR Version
If you’ve previously purchased the Driveclub season pass (before 00:00am BST on Thu, 29th September 2016), you will be able to upgrade to the VR version at a discounted price when the game launches next month. The RRP for the full version of the game is £34.99 / €39.99, but season pass holders will be able to pick it up for £15.99 / €19.99.
Hello Games Under Investigation For False Advertising Over No Man’s Sky
No Man’s Sky developer, Hello Games, is under investigation by the UK Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) Eurogamer reports. The investigation is looking at the promotional materials used by Hello Games when promoting No Man’s Sky to the public, which includes lot of features that are currently not in the game.
US PlayStation Store Update for 27th September 2016
New content is available on the US PlayStation Store, with six new PS4 games, one new PS3 game and one new PS Vita game added, along with lots of new add-on content. New games this week include XCOM 2 (PS4), FIFA 17 (PS4, PS3) and Darkest Dungeon (PS4, PS Vita).
PlayStation Line-up for October 2016 Revealed
Sony has revealed the six new games coming to the PlayStation Plus Instant Game Collection in October. In true Halloween spirit, the line-up includes the remastered Resident Evil (PS4), and will be available on the PlayStation Store from 4th October 2016. The line-up also includes Transformers: Devastation (PS4). Check out the full list below.
