PlayStation Europe is once again holding it’s annual 12 Deals of Christmas promotion, and it starts today with a great deal on Rise of the Tomb Raider on PS4, and Buy One Get One Free deals on lots of games until 23rd December 2016. New deals will be added to the promotion every 48 hours, replacing the last one, so be sure to check what’s on offer every couple of days.
The last European PlayStation Store update is now live, and it’s a big one for new releases. There are over 20 new PS4 games, and four new PS Vita games to look forward to this week, including Final Fantasy XV (PS4), Red Faction (PS4) and Battalion Commander (PS4, PS Vita). The European PlayStation Store has started a flash-sale today, know as Cyber Monday. The sale will last for 4 days starting today, running until 1st December 2016, and you’ll be able to save upto 60% on a range of digital titles (as listed below), including Inside, Abzu, Surgeon Simulator: Anniversary Edition, The Witness and many more.
Analysis from data tracker GfK has revealed that the PlayStation VR is set set to overtake the combines sales of both Oculus Rift and the HTC Vive in the UK. While no official sales figures have been revealed, the findings aren’t surprising – the PlayStation VR headset is the cheapest VR device of the three, and doesn’t require high-spec hardware to work.
The Walking Dead series from Telltale Games is set to continue this December, with the first episode releasing on December 20th 2016. The first of five episodes in season three was originally set to release in November, but has now been delayed to December. Telltale has also revealed pre-order bonuses for those purchasing the season pass from the PlayStation Store.
New content is available on the European PlayStation Store this week, with seventeen new PS4 games, one new PS3 game and five new PS Vita games added to the Store this week. New games this week include Darksiders: Warmastered Edition (PS4), Amnesia: Collection (PS4), and SteinsGate 0 (PS4, PS Vita). The fourth episode of Batman – The Telltale Series is also available to download.

Earlier last week, on 17 November 2016, Sony released an update to the system software for the PS4, brining the current firmware version to v4.06. This is a minor update to the software, simply improving the system performance, but it’s a mandatory update. You’ll need to update your PS4 to v4.06 before you are able to access the PlayStation Network and play online.
As we edge closer to the release of The Last Guardian, which has suffered numerous delays, a new CG cinematic-style action trailer has been released for the game. The game is expected to release on 7th December 2016, and the game has recently gone gold, which means it will actually be releasing next month!
Ubisoft have released a new patch for Watch Dogs 2 to fix issues with the game that were identified after launch. The update does not, however, fix the seamless online issue discovered and removed just before launch. The patch also improves compatibility with the PS4 Pro, increasing the game’s performance on the newer hardware.
