PS4 Firmware v4.50 is officially available as of today, bring with it lots of new features and improvements. Since the changelog for the beta was revealed, Sony has managed to add in extra features including automatic activation of the PS4 as primary system on first login, in-game chat compatibility using Remote Play and more.
PS4 Firmware v4.50 Officially Available Tomorrow
Sony has announced that PS4 Firmware v4.50, which has been in closed beta testing, if officially releasing tomorrow, 9th March 2017. The major firmware brings with it many new features, including external hard drive support, custom wallpapers, and PlayStation VR improvements.
EU PlayStation Store Update for 7th March 2017
March’s first PlayStation Store update is live in Europe, bring with it several new games, including Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildland, LEGO Worlds and Shift Happens. This week’s update also includes new PlayStation Plus content, including Tearway Unfolded and Lumo.
PlayStation Plus Games for March 2017 Revealed
Sony has revealed March’s PlayStation Plus line-up, which brings six free titles to PlayStation Plus subscribers. The games will be available after the PlayStation Store update on 7th March 2017, and include Tearaway Unfolded (PS4), Lumo (PS Vita, Cross Buy with PS4), and Earth Defense Force 2025 (PS3).
Sony Reveal 915,000 PlayStation VR Units Sold, 100 New Games to Come in 2017
Sony have revealed that it’s sold just shy of a million PlayStation VR units worldwide as of 19th February 2017, since the headset first launched in October 2016. In addition, more than 100 PlayStation VR titles are available currently, with over 100 more to come this year. There are over 220 titles currently in development, including Final Fantasy XV and Tekken 7.
EU PlayStation Store Update for 28th February 2017
New content is available on the European PlayStation Store today, with fourteen new PS4 games and two new PlayStation VR games available for purchase. New games this week include Horizon: Zero Dawn, Apollo 11 VR and Dying: Reborn. You can also find new DLC for various PS4 games, including Minecraft and Warframe.
A King’s Tale: Final Fantasy XV Coming to PS4 on 1st March
Square Enix has announced that side-scrolling game A King’s Tale: Final Fantasy XV is coming to PS4 in March, and will be free to download. Previously, the game was an exclusive pre-order bonus included with Final Fantasy XV, but will now be available to everyone. The game is a fairy tale told by King Regis to his young son Noctis.
Resogun Gets PS4 Pro Patch
Housemarque have released a new patch for Resogun adding PS4 Pro compatibility, which includes 4K support and HDR. The patch is free to download for owners of the game, and also includes some visual changes and bug fixes. The HDR mode will also work on regular PS4 models, providing you have a compatible device.
EU PlayStation Store Update for 21st February 2017
New content has been added to the European PlayStation Store today, with 18 new PS4 titles and three new PS Vita titles added. You can download the Ghost Recon Wildlands beta, and have it pre-loaded ready for the beta which starts on Thursday, 23rd Feb 2017. Other new titles include Ys Origin and Warhammer Quest. PlayStation Plus Open Weekend on 17th February in US, Next Week in Europe
Sony has announced a free PlayStation Plus multiplayer weekend, where anyone without a PlayStation Plus subscription can play online for a limited time. In North America, it starts at 12:01 AM Pacific on 17th February, and runs until 23rdFebruary at 11:59 PM Pacific. In Europe, it starts next week from 10am on 22nd February.
