Over 10 years after it’s release, Sony has announced that it is shutting down the online services for PlayTV on the PS3. PlayTV was a hardware device and app that allowed users in Europe to watch live over-the-air TV on the PS3, and included the ability to record shows, pause and rewind live TV.

PS4 Fifth Anniversary Infographic Reveals Over 86 Million PS4 Sold Worldwide
To celebrate the PS4’s fifth anniversary, Sony has released a infographic revealing some interesting statics about the console. As of September 2018, 86.1 million PS4 units have been sold worldwide. which means over 12 million units were sold since Christmas 2017.
Sony Will Be Absent from E3 2019
Sony has revealed that it will not be attending the E3 event in Los Angeles, which will be taking place in June 2019. This is the first time in the 24 year history of the event that Sony will not be attending, leaving its two biggest competitors to make the most of the event.
Top PSN Sellers for October 2018 in North America
October 2018 was a huge month in terms of new releases. The PlayStation Store charts for October have been released for North America, revealing the most purchased titles. On the PS4, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 was the top selling title, followed by Red Dead Redemption 2, and Assassin’s Creed Odyssey.

The PlayStation Store chart for October 2018 has been revealed in Europe, detailing the top selling digital titles. On the PS4, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 was the top selling title, but was followed by Red Dead Redemption 2 in second place having been on sale only for a few days last month.

Take-Two Interactive has released their earnings report for the past quarter, ending September 30th 2018. The report reveals that Rockstar Games’ Red Dead Redemption 2 sold 17 million copies worldwide in only 8 days. In fact, the sequel sold more copies than the previous game sold in its lifetime.
Future Final Fantasy XV DLC Cancelled and Director Leaves Square Enix
Square Enix has announced that future DLC for Final Fantasy XV have been cancelled, including Episodes Aranea, Noctis, and Lunafreya. Episode Ardyn is still in development and will be released in March 2019, while the multiplayer expansion Comrades will be released as a standalone title.
Sony Delays Server Shutdown of Warhawk, Twisted Metal to January 2019
Earlier last month, Sony announced that the online servers to several old PS3 title would be shut down in October 2018. Sony has now decided to delay the shutdown to January 2019, meaning gamers will have a few more months to enjoy titles include Warhawk, Twisted Metal, PlayStation All-Stars: Battle Royale, and Sound Shapes.
PlayStation Plus Line-Up for November 2018 Revealed
The full line-up for November’s PlayStation Plus has been revealed. Earlier this month, the first two games were leaked by Sony, but today the full line-up has been revealed. The games will be available to download from the PlayStation Store from 6th November 2018.
Tetris Effect Gets Time Limited Demo This Week
Tetris Effect releases on the PS4 in just over a week’s time, but to promote the game, you can download a time-limited demo this weekend. The demo will be available from 1st November until 5th November 2018, after which the demo will stop working. The demo will require an internet connection to work.
