We’re not sure whether this is real or not, but in a podcast released late last month IGN accidentally reveal they have a PS3 Slim in the office. If this is real, it isn’t the first time something like this has leaked. Rumors of the PS3 Slim have been circulating around for quite some time now, starting with supposedly leaked photos to a recent video of the PS3 Slim in the Philippines. Around 45 minutes and 30 seconds into the Podcast you will notice the quick chatter about the rumors and the confirmation of having one in the office.

WipEout HD Fury DLC Details
Zico Liu, programmer on WipEout HD, and also from the “Beat Zico” trophy has revealed some details about the upcoming WipEout HD Fury expansion pack. The Fury expansion pack will be available from the PlayStation Store on Thursday 23rd July (same day as the new Killzone 2 expansion pack). The pack will be priced at £7.99 / €9.99 and will provide three new race types: Eliminator, Zone Battle and Detonator; 12 new tracks, 13 new ships, 6 new music tracks, a redesigned menu system, a new campaign to complete as well a host of new trophies to win.
PlayStation Video Store Update For July 17th 2009
This week on the US PlayStation Video Store all the earlier Harry Potter movies available to rent or purchase. Visit the store, and under Featured Collections you’ll find the Harry Potter Collection, which explores Harry’s first four years of spellbinding adventures, plus a free trailer (we’ve included it below). For new other new movies and TV content, see below for the complete list. As for this week’s top movie downloads, Knowing is on top for the second week running. In 2nd place is Push followed by 12 Rounds.
Assassin’s Creed: Bloodlines PSP Entertainment Pack
Assassin’s Creed fans get ready! Soon you’ll be able to take your favorite covert assassins game with you on your PSP. Assassin’s Creed: Bloodlines will be available in a new Limited Edition PSP Entertainment Pack. Available in the US in November for $199.99 (MSRP), this Entertainment Pack will include a white PSP-3000 and the game, as well as a few extras. Also, check out the trailer to the game below.
ModNation Racers Trailer
It’s been over a month since ModNation Racers was first announced, at E2 2009. In case you missed Sony’s Press Conference at E3, the PlayStation.Blog has now released the ModNation Racers trailer for everyone viewing (see below). If you are unfamiliar with the game, its follows the same concept as LittleBigPlanet: play, create and share; except its a racing game. You create a player and design a car and then even design a track. Everything can be shared via the online community. Once you are done, race on your newly made track or many of the available right out of the box.
PlayStation Store Update For July 16th 2009
This week on the PlayStation Store, both the US and Euro stores have the Trash Panic demo available for download. On the US Store you can now also purchase Namco Museum Essentials, the full game. As for new game add-on content, the Ghostbusters Costumes for LittleBigPlanet are now available for purchase, as well as new tracks for Guitar Hero and Rock Band, and new packs for Dynasty Warriors 6 Empires. A new episode of PULSE is also available for download on the US Store.
VidZone Update
VidZone has received an update today, with new playlists and over 160 new music videos. A featured playlist this week is Madness, which features all their best videos including Baggy Trousers, Our House and It Must Be Love. Also new this week is Workout Music – a collection of up-tempo videos to get you off the couch and pumping those muscles. It includes videos from Freemasons and the C&C Music factory. Other playlists include Eurodance, Chillout Music, Pop Punk Classics, RnB Slow Downs and Breakup Music.
Sony Developing PlayStation Eye Facial Recognition Software
Some of the advantages boasted by Microsoft’s Natal controller are already in the PSEye, Sony said today at the Game Developers Conference in Brighton. Sony has developed new facial recognition software for the PSEye camera which has been put together the SCEE R&D team and other developers.
Sony’s PS3 Motion Controller “Tracks True 3D and Depth”
At the Game Developers Conference in Brighton this morning, Sony once again showed off their upcoming motion-tracking controller technology during the keynote speech, this time with the emphasis on showing off its “true 3D movement tracking and accuracy”. The device, which was unveiled at E3, uses a wand-like peripheral with built-in accelerometers and a coloured ball at one end which is tracked by the PSEye camera.
SCEJ Releases First Pay-To-Play Game For PlayStation 3
Trash Panic is a PSN game released by Sony earlier last month, which costs for £3.99 / €4.99 and includes trophies. Today, a modified version of the game has been released in Japan. Gomi Bako, as the game is known in Japanese, has been released as a pay-to-play game much like real arcade games. It costs ¥100 (approx. 69p) to play and you get 3 lives, but unlike the original game this version unlockes rewards in PlayStation Home.
