The first PlayStation Store update for August is now live. This week, there is lots of new content available for download including four new playable demos for the US and two for Europe, which includes the Batman: Arkham Asylum demo. inFamous Costumes for LittleBigPlanet are also available to purchase from both stores. Other game add-on content includes new Rock Band and Guitar Hero tracks, a new Call of Duty: World at War Map Pack and more. Episode 15 of Qore is also available on the US store.

VidZone Hits 1 Million Downloads

The VidZone Music Video Application has hit a major milestone this week. The application, which is available to a select number of countries in Europe, has been downloaded over 1 million times and over 100 million videos have been streamed. What is even more impressive is that these figures have been reached in just under 8 weeks since launch. If you haven’t downloaded the application yet, head over to the PlayStation Store on your PS3.
Qore Episode 15

Episode 15 of Qore is out tomorrow and will feature some highly anticipated PS3 titles. Veronica Belmont heads to Seattle to get the 411 on Zipper Interactive’s MAG. You can also expect coverage on Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, Tekken 6 and Katamari Forever. Episode 15 also includes a exclusive Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 XMB Theme and a new Rune Raider level pack in the Qore Arcade.
Rumor Alert: PS3 Price Cut & PS3 Slim Coming Aug 18th 2009

Rumors of the PlayStation 3 Slim are coming even faster now, suggesting something is definitely brewing at Sony. The internet is alight with rumours of a planned €100 (£85) price cut on Sony’s current 80GB PS3 model across Europe to be announced at the same time at the launch of a new PS3 Slim at Germany’s GamesCon event on 18 August. The rumours follow the news that Sony is informing Japanese retailers that the 80GB PS3 model will not be shipping after 8 August.
Supersonic Battle Cars Update Released

Psyonix Studios announced today that Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars, the action-packed game with the insanely long name, has received a free update that is now available for download. The update includes improved network performance, a host of new replay features and friend matching, 14 new vehicle skins and two brand-new arenas, bringing the total number of Battle-Car arenas from four to six.
PlayStation 3 Slim Spotted On Amazon Germany

The PlayStation 3 Slim image and product entry has appeared on Amazon Germany’s website. The console is selling for €449 and features a previously unseen photo of the console (probably photoshopped). The entry in Amazon isn’t official either, its a third-party seller and states “2 used from €449.99. What makes this entry even more suspicious is the second product image, which is actually one of the leaked photos from a while back.
GI Joe Arrives In PlayStation Home

Paramount Pictures International has launched its latest summer blockbuster, G.I. JOE: THE RISE OF COBRA, in PS3 Home. PlayStation Home residents will be able to download four G.I. JOE costumes for free, exclusively from Threads Store. Available for a limited time only, Home residents will be able to download the iconic costumes worn by stars Channing Tatum (Duke) and Sienna Miller (The Baroness), or become rival G.I. JOE or COBRA ninjas, Snake Eyes or Storm Shadow.
PlayStation Video Store Update For July 31st 2009

A new collection of movies has been launched on the US PlayStation Video Store this week: Fast & Furious. Since 2001, the Fast & Furious films have been moviegoers’ source for intense thrill rides. All four movies are available to purchase or rent from the store. As for the top movie downloads this week, Watchmen is still on top and Knowing is still in 2nd place for another week.
