This week on the PlayStation Video Store, check out 2 Months, $2 Million. It’s a new show from G4 that takes you inside the world of competitive high stakes online poker. The show follows the lives and adventures of four young high IQ friends trying to break the bank of the online poker world. You will also find lots of new movies and TV shows to download as usual. As for this week’s top 10 downloads, Dragonball: Evolution moves to 1st place (from 2nd place last week), followed by Miss March, which has dropped to 2nd place. In 3rd place it Obsessed. PlayStation Store Update For Aug 13th 2009
This week on the PlayStation Store, there are new downloadable games for both Europe and the US, namely Marvel vs Capcom 2, and the US has also received three new PSOne Classics, including Tomb Raider. As for downloadable content, there are new costumes for LittleBigPlanet as well as the History Level Kit, the first DLC pack for Red Faction: Guerrilla, and new tracks for Rock Band. For those of you who can’t get enough of Fat Princess, you can also download some free XMB wallpaper.
VidZone Update For Aug 13th 2009
This week, the VidZone has been working hard to provide you with new playlists and exclusive content. You can also now find all the new videos added to your region from the Recommended > New Videos menu. VidZone also introduced their own TV show; the pilot episode is available to stream now. You can find exclusive footage and interviews from two of London’s best festivals including words from Pixie Lott, Florence, Mr Hudson, Soul II Soul, N-Dubz, Kid Cudi and more.
Rumor Alert: First Real Photos Of PS3 Slim?
Earlier this week GameWave, a Hong Kong based weekly magazine, revealed the first photos of the PS3 Slim in their latest issue. Although the photos are unconfirmed, they look pretty convincing especially compared to the leaked photos a few months ago. In our opinion, the design of the console looks poor and perhaps a little too small, compared to what the console looks like currently. You be the judge, check out the photos below.
First Red Faction: Guerrilla DLC Pack Out Today
Today the first downloadable content pack for Red Faction: Guerrilla will be released on the PlayStation Network. The pack, called Demons of the Badlands, is a singleplayer prequel set in an entirely new area of mars, featuring new weapons, vehicles and activities. This pack features also comes with ten new trophies.The pack is already available to download from the European PlayStation Store for £7 and will be on available on the US Store later today for $9.99.
US PSN Portable IDs Now Come With Trophies
The US PlayStation Website has finally updated the Portable ID cards to include trophies. The European PlayStation website has had this feature since March 2009, which is a first, since the US is usually the first to get cool new features. Later this week, the updated PSN ID Cards will go online at us.playstation.com. Check out the feature list and video walkthrough below.
The Presentation Podium Opens Its Doors For GamesCom
Remember the Presentation Podium from E3 2009 in PlayStation Home? Well, its opening its doors again for GamesCom. GamesCom is being held next week in Cologne, Germany from August 18th, which is the same day as Sony’s Press Conference. Just like at E3, the conference and other footage will be streamed live into PlayStation Home.
Sony Accepting MAG Beta Applications
Earlier today we received an email from Sony with instructions on how to enter the MAG Beta. The email contained a unique access code and a link to a website where you can register. The catch? You have to answer a few questions and tell Sony why you should be chosen for the Beta. Beta invites will be sent out in phases – but you only need to answer the questions once to be eligible for all phases.
Hong Kong Mag Features PS3 Slim
GameWave, a weekly games magazine in Hong Kong, has features the PlayStation 3 Slim as cover story (click thumbnail to enlarge). The text near the PS3 Slim image reads something to the effect of “Slim PS3 appears at the end of the month.” The magazine seems pretty confident about publishing this story in their weekly mag, but we can’t vouch for the creditability of GameWave.
PSN Cards And Video Store Coming To Europe
SCEE today announced that PSN Cards and a Video Store are definitely coming to Europe. Angela Madronero, European PlayStation Store Manager, has stated that more information on PSN Cards will be revealed ‘in the not too distant future’. Also, Sony “will be making an official announcement regarding [the] forthcoming Video Store, next week, at GamesCom.” Which is great news for games in Europe and PAL Territories.
