New Brutal Legend DLC Coming Next Week
New downloadable content is headed to Brutal Legend next week. EA and Double Fine have announced Hammer of Infinite Fate, the second DLC pack for the title. The Hammer of Infinite Fate pack comes with three new outfits for Eddie Rigg: the Mountain Man, Black Metal and Zaulia Thread. The Deuce will also get a face lift with four brand new paint jobs and four purchaseable upgrades including the Oculus of the Lost, and a GPS.
UPDATE: PS3 Transfer Utility Will Copy Protected Game Save Data
We were hoping the recently announced PlayStation 3 Transfer Utility would allow protected game save data to be copied to other consoles, since the data is deleted from the source PlayStation after the transfer is complete. Despite Sony Europe’s James Thorpe stating “all PS3 save data except for game saves that are protected by the game publishers,” we have word that the utility does allow protected data to be copied.
Final Fantasy XIII Trophies Will Unlock Custom Theme
Unlocking trophies is a good way to motivate gamers into achieving some difficult feats. Final Fantasy XIII takes this further and rewards players who unlock a specific trophy by giving them an exclusive XMB theme. The information was revealed in the latest Degenki Japanese video game magazine. It is unclear is a similar feature will make it to the Xbox 360 version of the game. The game is released in Japan next Thursday, and won’t be available in the West until March 2010.
PlayStation Home’s 1st Birthday
A year has gone by so fast! The first anniversary of the PlayStation Home is rapidly approaching, and Sony are rewarding everyone who has joined us in making Home an amazing community. As our treat to you, Sony will be giving away the fantastic new Tree House personal space for free. Available from Home Estates from this Thursday, the Tree House will be free for a period of two weeks only.
Assassin’s Creed II Patch v1.01 Now Available
The first patch for Assassin’s Creed II is now available for download on the PlayStation 3. The patch is 77mb in size and fixed many situation-specific bugs, mission-specific bugs and also adds 5.1 LPCM audio support in the game. The patch will also be released on the Xbox 360, but not until December 11th 2009.
Yakuza 3 Coming to West In 2010
Kevin, the Online Community Manager at SEGA Europe, has revealed that Sega’s Yakuza 3 is coming to the west in 2010. Europe and America will be getting the chance to take on the mantle of Kiryu Kazuma this time battling the Ryudo Ikka, and once again Yakuza will be an exclusive for the PlayStation 3. Yakuza 3 has already sold over half a million copies in Japan alone and whilst the wait has been long for the US, European and Australian, you won’t have to wait much longer – the game will be out March 2010.
PlayStation 3 Firmware v3.15 Details
SCEE has confirmed that PlayStation 3 Firmware v3.15 will be available to download soon. Firmware 3.15 will be an optional update with two key features: PS3 Data Transfer and PSP Minis Compatibility. SCEE Christmas PlayStation Store Update
If you know your way around a calendar, you will be aware that Christmas falls on a Friday this year. And like most people, SCEE will be probably be getting hammered at the pub on Thrusday 24th December. As a result, the PlayStation Store will be updated earlier than usual that week, on Tuesday 22nd December 2009. In addition, there will be no update the following week as New Year’s Eve also falls on a Thursday.
European ModNation Racers Beta Coming In 2010
Qore subscribers will already know that the ModNation Racer Beta will be starting next week. For Europe, Liam Quigley, the European Product Manager for ModNation Racers, has revealed a localized beta test will starting in early 2010. The beta will run for two weeks and will feature exclusive European content to give gamers a taster of what it to come in ModNation Racers. Details on how to sign-up for the beta will be revealed in the next few weeks, but in the mean time, check out the sticker and layering walkthrough video below.
