‘Going gold’ is a much-anticipated landmark in the development of any game – essentially, it means that the discs are ready to be pressed and the Champagne is chilling nicely. The latest game to reach the ‘gold’ milestone is Killzone 3, which means the game is on schedule for release on February 23rd 2011.
VUDU has been updated to a whole new dimension today thanks to a new patch for the movie streaming service. If you’ve got a 3D-enabled TV hooked up to your PS3, now you can stream in 3D directly from VUDU. If you’ve already downloaded the VUDU app, it will be updated automatically with the new functionality.

Mass Effect 2 for the PlayStation 3 goes on sale in stores on January 18th in North America, and will also be available in downloadable form through the PlayStation Network in North America on January 18th. Back in December, SCEE announced an official PlayStation App for iPhone and Android handsets. Today, that application is now available to download from the Apple App Store and Android Market. The app is compatible with iPhone and iPod Touch with OS 4 and above, and most Android handsets with a minimum of OS 1.6.
Talks about the rumored PlayStation Phone and Nintendo’s new 3DS console are dominating the news recently. This week, more details has come into light on the supposed ‘Xperia Play’ phone from Sony Ericsson. Chinese website IT168 states that the device will be powered by a Qualcomm Adreno 205 GPU, along with what’s likely to be a 1GHz Snapdragon QSD8255 CPU.
