PSN Experienced Unexpected Outage

A few hours ago, the PlayStation Network mysteriously went offline for many users. When attempting to sign in, user’s were informed that their password was incorrect, instead of seeing the usual “Maintenance” message shown during scheduled downtime. Luckily, the PSN wasn’t hacked this time.
Rumor Alert: PlayStation 4 Specs Leaked

Following the confirmation from Sony that PS4 games are in development, a Dutch website claims to have the official specs to the unannounced PlayStation 4. The specs include the CPU, APU, GPU and RAM the system may have. The leaked spec sheet also confirms the inclusion of a Blu-ray drive and HDMI 1.4.
Assassin’s Creed III Now Available to Pre-Order on PlayStation Store

Assassin’s Creed III, scheduled for release in late October, is now available to pre-order from the PlayStation Store as a digital download. If you pre-order via the Store, you will receive an exclusive single-player mission “A Dangerous Secret,” where you’ll fight against a secret that could jeopardize the founding of the revolution.
Sony Looking At Game Streaming and OnLive

In an interview with MCV, Shuhei Yoshida, President of Sony Worldwide Studios, has said that the company is looking at “what OnLive is doing” and “how this can be a part of PlayStation.” He also mentioned that Sony already implements some basic cloud technology with the Remote Play feature on the PS3, PSP and PS Vita.
Sony Confirms PS4 Games Are “In Development”

In an interview with GameTrailers, Scott Rohde, Senior VP for SCEA, confirmed that a successor to the PS3 is coming, although he did not reveal when. He also confirmed that games are in development for the upcoming console. The console was rumored to make an appearance at E3 2012 this week, but it looks like Sony aren’t in a rush.

Portal 2 Getting PlayStation Move Compatibility

Portal 2 on the PlayStation 3 will be getting a patch that adds PlayStation Move compatibility to the game. The patch will also offer 20 new Test Chambers that will require the Move controller. The patch will also lets gamers use the Move controller in the main single-player mode too.
The Last of Us Won’t Be Released in 2012

2013 will be a big year for the PlayStation 3. The new God of War: Ascension title is already dated for March 2013, but it looks like The Last of Us will also be released next year. An exact release date has yet to be revealed, but Sony Worldwide Studios boss Shuhei Yoshida confirmed that the game won’t be released this year.
