Resistance Collection Coming to PS3 in December
With Christmas just around the corner, Sony and Insomniac Games have revealed that the Resistance Collection will be coming to the PS3 in North America next month. Retailing for $39.99, the collection will include all three Resistance games released on the PS3, plus all the DLC content to go along with it.
Jetpack Joyride Available on PSP, PS Vita, and PS3 in North America
Free-to-play iOS / Android title Jetpack Joyride has launched in North America this week, available on all three of Sony’s platforms. The game has been downloaded over 35 million times on mobile devices, but the game costs a premium on Sony’s consoles, costing $3.99 instead of being free like on iOS and Android.
PSN Download Sizes for All-Stars Battle Royale Revealed
If you are planning to download the digital versions of PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale, you’ll be happy to know that the download sizes of each of the versions have been revealed ahead of the game’s release. The PS3 version of the game will take up close to 6 GB of space on your hard drive, while the PS Vita version is less than a third of that.
Square Enix Removed Online Pass for Hitman: Absolution
In a rare move for publishers, Square Enix has removed the requirement of having a valid online pass for Hitman: Absolution. Most publishers would hinder used game sales by requiring anyone with a second hand copy to have a valid online pass, or purchase one in order to make full use of the game.
PlayStation Store Updated to Version v1.01
Before launch, Sony said that the re-designed PlayStation Store would receive regular updates, and the first is now available to download. A new patch is available updating the Store to version v1.01, and is 26 MB in size. Unfortunately, no changelog is included so we don’t actually know what’s new.
The Walking Dead Episode 5 Trailer
The Walking Dead Episode 5 releases in North America and Europe this week and Telltale Games has released a trailer of the upcoming Episode to give you a taster of what’s to come. The final episode marks the end of the season, and a second season may be in the works too. Check out the trailer below.
PS4 Rumours Round-up
The latest issue of PSM3 magazine has a number of PlayStation 4 rumours, as reported by GameFront.de. According to the magazine, the console won’t be called the ‘PS4’ or ‘PlayStation 4’ as the number 4 is considered unlucky in Japan and has an alternative pronunciation related to death.
Retro City Rampage Coming Soon to Europe
Retro City Rampage has been available in North America for a few weeks now, but still remains to be seen in Europe. Brian Provinciano, the man behind Retro City Rampage, has tweeted that the European version of the game is ready for SCEE certification and will be available on the PlayStation Store soon. The game doesn’t have a exact release date, but hopefully the QA process will be smooth and we’ll see the game available in the next few weeks.
PS3 Sales Reach 70 Million Units Worldwide
In a press release this morning, Sony Computer Entertainment announced that sales for the PS3 have reached over 70 million units worldwide as of November 4th 2012. The milestone has been achieved in less than six years after the console was first launched in 2006. Sony’s PlayStation Move controller has also surpassed 15 million units as of November 11th 2012.
