In more news streaming from the Xbox One event yesterday, Infinity Wards unveiled the “Reveal” trailer for their upcoming FPS title, Call of Duty: Ghosts. The game’s events place after a mysterious apocalyptic event, with America’s only hope in the face of a new superpower being a group of soldiers known as the Ghosts. The game is heading to pretty much every home console, including the PS3 and PS4, and will be releasing in November 2013.

EA Announced Battlefield 4 for PlayStation 4
DICE, a studio of Electronic Arts Inc, has announced that the highly-anticipated action blockbuster Battlefield 4 will be available this holiday for early-adopters of the next-generation hardware systems: Xbox One, and the PlayStation 4. The game was previously announced for the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC, but was confirmed for next-gen consoles too at the Xbox One event yesterday.
Sony Stock Price Jumps Up 9% Following Xbox One Reveal
Following the reveal of the Xbox One next-gen console today, Sony’s stock price has jumped over 9%, while Microsoft’s has dropped around 0.6%. Probably not the response Microsoft was hoping for, but the change in price suggests investors are more confident about Sony’s next-gen console, even though the console has yet to be revealed. The Xbox One is a powerful machine, with a similar specification to the PlayStation 4.
Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag Gameplay Trailer Released
Ubisoft is giving gamers yet another glimpse into the world of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag and the their vision of The Golden Age of Pirates with a new gameplay trailer. The trailer shows a wide variety of new and exciting activities in AC4, including: dynamic boarding raids, incomparably smooth free-running in both natural and city environments and multi-pistol fighting that makes sense in the Assassin’s Creed melee style.
Germinator and Pinball Arcade Coming to PlayStation Plus in North America Today
New content is releasing on PlayStation Plus in North America later today as two new titles join the Instant Game Collection. Germinator (PS Vita) and Pinball Arcade (PS3, PS Vita, Cross-Buy Enabled) will be added to the Instant Game Collection later today, as part of this week’s PlayStation Store update. In addition, PlayStation Plus subscribers will be able to get discounts on a number of titles, including 25% off Metro: Last Light Season Pass and 30% off new title Men’s Room Mayhem.
PS4 Reveal Dated for June 10th 2013, Pricing Leaked
Sony have released a video teasing the brand new PS4 console, but not quite revealing what the console looks like. The trailer reveals that the full console will be unveiled next month at E3, during Sony’s Press Conference starting at 6:00pm Pacific Time (2.00am 11th June BST, 3.00am CET).
Batman: Arkham Origins Trailer Released
WB Games have released a new CG trailer for upcoming Batman title, Arkham Origins. Coming out in October 2013, the trailer confirms that the game is coming to pretty much every current game platform, including the PS Vita. Pre-ordering the game for the PS3 will mean gamers get the Deathstroke DLC pack for free, too.
Uncharted Series is “Over” According to Naughty Dog’s Judd Simantov
Fans of Drake, Sully, Elena, and Chloe will be disappointed to hear that the Uncharted series may be over, now that Naughty Dog has moved on to The Last of Us. A video from Naughty Dog’s Judd Simantov shows the techniques he used in modeling and rigging the game’s primary characters, but also mentions that the Uncharted is over. At the 14:20 into the video, Simantov says “Now that the Uncharted series is over, we had the opportunity to re-evaluate certain things.”
EA Discontinues Online Passes
EA are discontinuing the controversial “online pass” program after end-user feedback, and none of the new EA titles will include them from now on. The online pass system requires consumers of second-hand games to purchase a pass, usually around £7.99, to access all the features of a game, normally the online or multiplayer component of the game.
Gran Turismo 6 Intro Footage Released
Following the announcement of Gran Turismo 6 this week, the intro footage to the game has been released in amazing 60fps 1080p resolution. You can view the YouTube version below or download the 60fps version here (since YouTube doesn’t support 60fps). GT6 will features 1,200 cars and 71 track layouts and was confirmed for the PS3 at the Gran Turismo 15th Anniversary event.
