Now this is getting really impressive: Naughty Dog’s PS3 exclusive, The Last of Us, continues to dominate the UK Games Chart, beating off the competition for six weeks running. The game has again fought off competition from Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition and Mario And Luigi: Dream Team Bros., while new entry Dynasty Warriors 8 debuts on the chart at number 5.

PS3 Wireless Headsets will be Compatible with PS4
A Sony official at San Diego Comic-Con has told Polygon that the PS4 will support older PS3 headsets, even though the console will come bundled with it’s own mono headset. PS3 headsets like the official PS3 Wireless Headset and the Pulse Headset will work with the new console as an alternative. It’s expected that other third-party headsets will also work with the PS4.
Everybody’s Golf Coming to PS3 Next Week
PS Vita launch game Everybody’s Golf (or Hot Shots Golf if you’re in the US) has been ported to the PS3 and will be released next week on the PlayStation Store. The game will support four player local multiplayer and PlayStation Move controller functionality. The PS Vita version will also be patched to allow cross-play with the PS3 version and cross-buy of all DLC.
New Final Fantasy XIII: Lightning Returns Trailer Released
Square-Enix has released a new trailer for upcoming title Final Fantasy XIII: Lightning Returns shown off earlier this week at the San Diego Comic-Con. The new trailer is titled “13 Days” and shows off more of what we can expect from the dramatic new story in the game. The game isn’t due for release until February 14th 2014, however.
PES 2014 Not Coming to PS4
Sorry football fans, it appears that Pro Evolution Soccer 2014 won’t be coming to the PS4 or Xbox One this year. The strange decision by Konami means that EA will pretty much dominate the Football market on next-generation consoles with FIFA 14, which will be coming to both consoles. The decision is down to adoption of the new consoles, says Marking executive Manorito Hosoda.
Assassin’s Creed IV “A Pirate’s Life on High Seas” Trailer Released
Ubisoft have just released a new trailer for Assassin’s Creed IV, titled “A Pirate’s Life on High Seas”, and shows off the life of piracy including drinking, singing and killing. The trailer features new snippets of gameplay, including fight scenes and Kenway jumping from one ship to another.
Need for Speed: Most Wanted, Mafia II and More Coming to PlayStation Plus in August
SCEE has confirmed the PlayStation Plus line-up for August 2013, revealing three new PS3 and two new PS Vita titles for the Instant Game Collection. The earlier rumours for August’s update were partly true in that Spec Ops: The Line and When Vikings Attack! will be available next month, but no DmC or New Little King’s Story.

SOCOM and MAG Multiplayer Servers Shutting Down in January 2014
Sony has revealed that servers for several of Zipper Interactive’s games will be shutting down in the new year. Zipper Interactive were the developers behind games like SOCOM and MAG on the PS3, and Unit 13 on the PS Vita, and was shut down by Sony in March 2012. In the past, Sony has already shut down servers for a number legacy titles on the PS2 and PSP.
Gaikai Will Give Gamers Access to Catalogue of “Critically Acclaimed” PS3 Games
Sony’s cloud gaming strategy was revealed at E3, which will game use of Gaikai’s streaming technology to give PS4, PS3 and PS Vita gamers access to library of PS3 games. However, it’s been clarified that only “critically acclaimed” games will be available via the service. The latest video from the PlayStation Access team also reveals that the service will later be expanded to include more legacy PlayStation titles.
