The Walking Dead: Season Two Finale Trailer
The final episode of The Walking Dead: Season Two, ‘No Going Back,’ will be available for download on PS3 and PS Vita on Wednesday, 27th August. The first trailer for the final episode has been released, which contains huge spoilers for the previous episodes in the series, including spoilers from Season 1. The trailer includes an all-new scene created specifically for the trailer too.
PlayStation Network Back Online, Maintenance Period Cancelled
After yesterday’s PlayStation Network downtime, network access has been restored and the PSN is back online. The reason for the downtime was because of a distributed denial of service attack (DDoS), which saw artificial traffic slow down and even crash the PlayStation Network servers. Sony says there is no evidence of any intrusion to the network and no evidence of any unauthorised access to users’ personal information.
PSN Maintenance Scheduled for Monday, 25th August 2014
Sony has announced scheduled maintenance for the PlayStation Network for Monday, 25th August 2014. If you’re based in the UK, the maintenance is sure to put a dampener on your Bank Holiday gaming, which is scheduled to take place between 17:40 BST and 00:50 BST on Tuesday, 26th August 2014. If you want to play online during the maintenance period, make sure you sign-in before the start of the window.
Minecraft on PS4 Fails Certification Testing, Could Be Delayed
Minecraft was slated to launch on the PS4 and PS Vita this month, but may now be delayed as the PS4 version has failed final testing with Sony. 4J Studios, the developers behind the console versions of the game, recently tweeted a status update on the game. Although the developer didn’t confirm the delay, it’s safe to assume that going through the quality assurance process at Sony will delay the game.
Destiny is the Most Pre-Ordered New IP In History
Acording to Gamestop, Bungie’s Destiny has become the most pre-ordered new IP in history, with the PS4 receiving the most pre-orders. The beta for the game took place in July, with over 4.6 million players experiencing what the game has to offer. The game is scheduled for release in September, along with a exclusive White PS4 bundle.
Sony’s Pre-TGS Press Conference Scheduled for September 1st 2014
Sony has revealed that it’s planning to host a press conference ahead of this year’s Tokyo Game Show. The press conference will take place on September 1st at 15:00 Japanese time, which is 6AM GMT. The event will be live-streamed via the PlayStation Japan website, but is likely to be mainly in Japanese. The content of the conference is currently unknown, but it could be something big.
PES 2015 PS4 Footage Released
Pro Evolution Soccer 2015 is the first PES title to make the jump to next-generation consoles after Konami decided to skip porting the 2014 version of the game to the PS4 and Xbox One. As Konami continue it’s push for the game, new footage has been released showing the game in action, featuring over 20 minutes of footage recorded directly from a PS4.
The Last of Us Stays on Top of UK Games Chart for Third Week
The Last Of Us Remastered is still on top of the cross-platform Games chart in the UK, making it the third week in a row. The PS4 exclusive title continues to hold back Watch_Dogs in second position, followed by the Xbox 360 version of Minecraft. FIFA 14 and GTA V have both slipped down the chart, ending in 7th and 8th positions, respectively.
The Playroom: AR Studio Available Tonight on PS4
Sony has announced that The Playroom will be getting some free DLC tonight in the form of AR Studio. The DLC was first announced back at E3 2014, and allows users to further customise their surroundings for broadcasts, by adding virtual banners, animations and more. The DLC was originally titled “Set Maker”, but has since been renamed to the more fitting title of AR Studio.
