Shuhei Yoshida, who is leading the development of Project Morpheus, has revealed to the Wall Street Journal that development on the device is 85% complete. The virtual reality headset uses many of the components used in smartphones, helping to keep the price down. Unfortunately, Yoshida didn’t hint on a release date for the device, even with competition from Oculus Rift and Samsung’s Gear VR headset.

PS4 Owners Get Free Access to Online Multiplayer this Weekend
If you are not a PlayStation Plus subscriber, you’ll be happy to know that Sony will be hosting a free multiplayer weekend this week, allowing you to play online multiplayer games without a subscription. The PlayStation Plus open weekend will take place between 8.00am BST/9.00am CET Friday 26th September and 9.00am BST/10.00am CET Monday 29th September.
PlayStation TV Release Date, Price and Compatible Games Revealed
PlayStation TV will be releasing in Europe and the UK on November 14th, Sony has revealed, with a RRP of £84.99 / €99.99. Sony has also confirmed that hundreds of PS Vita, PSP and PS one games will be compatible with the device from day one, along with Remote Play functionality with the PS4.
Destiny Keeps Top Stop in UK Games Chart for Second Week
Bungie’s Destiny continues to do well in the UK Games Chart this week, keeping the top spot for the second week running. The game, available on a number of platforms including PS4 and Xbox One, has been hugely popular since its release two weeks ago. UKIE also revealed that 72% of PS4 sales for the week were the Destiny bundle.
PS4 Sales Reach 1 Million Units in the UK
The latest figures from Sony reveal that the PS4 has sold over 10 million units worldwide since launch last November, but it has now come to light that the UK alone had sold over 1 million units. This means the UK counts for 10% of the PS4 market, making it the second quickest console to reach the one million mark.
New Destiny Video Shows PS Vita Remote Play
Destiny is just days away from release, and a new video of the game has been released showing the Remote Play capabilities of the game. The video from PlayStation.Blog shows just how impressive, and responsive the remote play experience is. The team over at Bungie actually optimized the controls for Destiny on PS Vita via Remote Play, and the controls are displayed below.
Watch_Dogs DLC “Bad Blood” Revealed
Ubisoft have announced new DLC for Watch_Dogs, titled Bad Blood, and will be releasing on September 30th 2014. In Bad Blood, you get to take on the role of T-Bone and play through an all new single player campaign that spans 10 missions, and a dynamic set of side missions called “Streep Sweep”.
Custom Themes Coming to PS4 and PS Vita in Next Firmware Updates
Sony has announced that new firmwares for the PS4 and PS Vita are in the works that will allow further customisation of the consoles. Firmware 2.0 for the PS4 will add Custom Themes, similar to the dynamic themes seen on the PS3, allowing you to finally customise the look and sound of the Dynamic Menu.
PSN Maintenance Rescheduled for Today
The PlayStation Network maintenance that was schedules to take place on Monday has been rescheduled for later today, Sony has announced. The maintenance will start from 16:00 BST today, and last until 05:00 BST tomorrow morning, effectively ruining your evening gaming session. It also appears that the original maintenance period has been extended, most likely as a result the DDoS attack on Sunday.
EU PlayStation Plus Line-up for September 2014 Revealed
SCEE has revealed the six new games that will be coming to the PlayStation Plus in September 2014. The new games will be added to the Instant Game Collection on September 3rd 2014, and include Velocity 2X (PS4), PlayStation Allstars Battle Royale (PS3) and Joe Danger (PS Vita).
