Sony has revealed the six new games that will be making their way to the Instant Game Collection for PlayStation Plus subscribers. The games will be available to download for free from 6th September 2016, and includes critically acclaimed game Journey (PS4, PS3), Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands (PS3) and Amnesia: Memories (PS Vita).

Gran Turismo Sport Delayed, No New Release Date
Polyphony Digital has announced that upcoming racing simulator, Gran Turismo Sport, has been delayed until further notice. The game was originally slated for release in November 2016, but statement from studio founder Kazunori Yamauch indicates that more time is required to perfect the game before release. As a result, the studio cannot confirm a new release date, which means the game won’t be out anytime this year.
Sony Cancels PlayStation Exclusive TV Series Powers after Season 2
Sony’s PlayStation Plus exclusive TV series, Powers, has been canceled after just two seasons. Based on the comic of the same name by Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Avon Oeming, the show revolved around a special police department known as the Powers Division which investigated crimes caused by those with super abilities.
Sony Launches New Behind-the-Scenes Video Series for PlayStation VR
Sony has announced that it will be releasing a series of behind-the-scenes videos showing the creation of the PlayStation VR, from the earliest prototype right through to the final version, which will be releasing in October. Over the next several weeks, new videos will be made available regularly, covering the tech in the headset, 3D audio and intuitive control inputs to create truly immersive gameplay experiences.
Sony to Hold Press Conference at Tokyo Game Show on 13th September 2016
Sony has announced that it will be holding a press conference at Tokyo Game Show in September. The press conference is scheduled for 4pm local time on 13th September 2016, which is equivalent to 8am BST / 9am CEST / 3am EDT, depending on where you are in the world. The TGS press conference will take place despite Sony having a separate press conference less than a week before, where the PlayStation “Neo” and PS4 Slim are expected to be officially unveiled.
Don’t Starve Together Heading to PS4 on 13th September 2016
Klei Entertainment have announced the official release date for Don’t Starve Together on the PS4, and a brand new bundle featuring the game. Don’t Starve Together will be available in North America and Europe on 13th September 2016, either as a standalone game or as part of the Don’t Starve Mega Pack. Those that already own the original game on the PS4 will also be able to benefit from a massive discount.
Sony Improves PSN Security with Two Factor Authentication
Sony has finally beefed up security on the PlayStation Network by introducing 2-Step Verification (2SV). Users can opt-in to 2SV to add an additional layer of security to their PSN Account. If you’re unfamiliar with 2SV, it’s basically a two step process that uses SMS to send time-limited, unique codes to your mobile to confirm your identity. This means that anyone trying to access your account would need to know your email / password, and have access to your mobile device.
PlayStation Now Announced for PC, DualShock 4 USB Wireless Adaptor Revealed
Sony has announced that PlayStation Now will be coming to PC, allowing your favourite PlayStation games to be played on a Windows PC for the first time. The service will launch in parts of Europe on 24th August 2016, followed by North America shortly after. In addition, Sony are releasing a DualShock 4 USB Wireless Adaptor to allow your existing controllers to be used on PC.
PS4 “Slim” Comes with Updated DualShock 4 Controller
Following the recent leak of the PS4 “Slim” console, it has emerged that the DualShock 4 controller has also been updated, and will come with the new console. On first glance, the controller looks almost identical to the current version, but there is one important change: the lightbar colour now shows through the touchpad. This will be useful for games that use the lightbar to indicate life or other status.
SCEA Increases Price of PlayStation Plus In North America
In an unusual move, SCEA has announced that the cost of PlayStation Plus will be going up in North America, starting from 22nd September 2016. In the first major price increase for the service, the cost of PlayStation Plus will go up from $49.99 USD / $49.99 CAD for a 12-month subscription to $59.99 USD/ $69.99 CAD. Prices for 3-month and 1-month subscripts are also affected.
