October 2016 saw the release of many new titles, including a host of PlayStation VR titles. However, Battlefield 1 finished top of the class beating last month’s top seller, FIFA 17, and other new releases like Mafia III and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition. Several PlayStation VR titles made it into the top 20 this month, and Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End made a re-entry into the chart in 7th place.

Sony Tears Down the PS4 Pro
Want to take a look inside the newly released PS4 Pro console? Sony has released a video showing Keiichi Aoki, Director of Mechanical Design, taking apart the PS4 Pro, piece by piece, and giving you some insight into the console’s internal design and components. The 12 minute video is sure to appeal to engineers and gamers alike.
PS4 Pro Launches Today
The PS4 Pro officially launches to day across North America, Europe, South Africa, Australasia and the Middle East. The new console offers 4K quality visuals, with vibrant, lifelike colours supported by HDR technology (as with all PS4 consoles), smoother performance and faster frame rates. It’s not a replacement for the existing PS4 console, but an enhanced version.
Ubisoft Reveals Details for Watch Dogs 2’s Season Pass
Ubisoft has revealed the first details on Watch Dog 2’s season pass, along with a trailer. The season pass will be priced at £29.99 and will feature additional items and missions to play through. In addition, PS4 owners will get content 30 days before other platforms. The first DLC is expected on December 13th which will include a new co-op level called Mayhem.
PS4 Pro Has 40+ Launch Titles Optimised for 4K
With the PS4 Pro launching next week, on 10th November, Sony has release a full list of games that have been optimised for the new console. Over 40 games have been optimised to take advantage of HDR and 4K resolution available on the newer, more powerful PS4 model. Older games like The Last of Us: Remastered and inFAMOUS Second Son require patches to enable full PS4 Pro compatibility.

The Last of Us Remastered Gets HDR Patch and PS4 Pro Support
Naughty Dog has released a patch for The Last of Us Remastered on the PS4 to add support for HDR and 4K, ahead of the PS4 Pro release next week. The patch, which weights in at 355 MB, is available to download now and adds HDR mode to the older PS4 models too. To make use of HDR quality, you need to have a compatible HDR TV.

Final Fantasy XV Has Gone Gold, New ‘Omen’ Trailer Release
Square Enix has announced that Final Fantasy XV has gone gold. This means that development on the game is now complete and the disc is ready for mass manufacturing, and on schedule for release on 29th November 2016. In addition to the announcement, a new trailer for the game has also been released, titled ‘Omen’ (watch it below).
Sony Reveals Two Third-Party Licensed Pro Controllers for PS4
Sony has revealed the first two officially licensed third-party controllers for the PS4, mainly targeted to competitive and pro players. Sony invited Razer and Nacon to “use their knowledge and expertise in developing eSports peripherals to design two unique pro controllers for PS4.” Find out details on each version below.
