Sony has released a new minor firmware update for the PS4, updating the system software to v7.51. The changelog for the update indicates that the update “improves system performance”.

PS4 Firmware 7.50 is now available to download, after previously being in beta testing back in February 2020. However, as per the beta, the update does not include any new features or functionality.

An update to the PS3 system software was released on 31st March 2020 – over 3 years after the last firmware update for the console. The update is a minor one, improving the performance of the system.

Just ahead of Christmas, Sony has dropped another surprise for PS4 owners in the form of a new firmware update. PS4 Firmware v7.02 is now available to download, and is mandatory if you want to access the PlayStation Network.
