PS4 Firmware v1.50 is a day-one update for the console, available from launch. The firmware update adds a number of advertised features to the console, including Remote Play, the ability to record and upload game footage, online multiplayer and lots more. The patch is 300 MB in size.

The official changelog for PS3 Firmeare 4.50 has been revealed, and allows all users to now take advantage of automatic updates – a feature that was previously exclusive to PlayStation Plus subscribers.
System Software Ver. 4.46
The changelog for PS3 Firmware 4.46 has been revealed, confirming the minor nature of the update. The new update added an option to hide trophy notications, and also fixes a bug with the XMB not displaying after system updates.
System Software Ver. 4.40
The official changelog for PS3 Firmeare 4.40 has been revealed, and reveals that users will be able to download PS3 games to their console using the web version of the PlayStation Store. The changelog notes that the feature will become active in May 2013. The changelog also reveals that the PS3 Wireless Stereo Headset is now compatible with PS2 Classics.

System Software Ver. 4.31
Sony has released a new firmware update for the PS3, updating the system software to version v4.31. The latest update is optional to install, and simply improves system issues with Monster Hunter Portable 3rd HD. The update is not required to access the PlayStation Network, but Sony recommends updating to the latest version.
System Software Ver. 4.30
PS3 Firmware v4.30 adds PS Vita trophy support to the console, allowing gamers to see trophies unlocked on their PS Vita console on their PS3. Firmware v4.30 also marks the end of Life with PlayStation as a service, and will be terminated soon.
System Software Ver. 4.25
PS3 Firmware v4.25 is a minor firmware update that increases the online cloud storage space for PlayStation Plus subscribers. The storage space has increased from 250MB to 1GB.

Settings
- Under Settings > [Power Save Settings] > [System Auto-Off], you can now set the amount of time until the system automatically turns off for [Video/TV/Music/Photo] and for [Game/Other Features].
- Under [Date and Time Settings] > [Time Zone], [Samoa Islands] has been changed to [American Samoa] and [Independent State of Samoa].
Games
- Under Games > [Saved Data Utility (PS3™)], you can now select multiple saved data items, and then either delete or copy them as a group.
Audio
- When the wireless stereo headset (CECHYA-0080) is connected, you can now adjust the sidetone level for microphone audio. Select [Sidetone] under Settings > [Accessory Settings] > [Audio Device Settings].
- In addition, if you use the Wireless Stereo Headset to watch Blu‐ray Disc or DVD movies on your PS3 system, this system software update will also enable virtual surround sound functionality giving you a superior audio experience.
Other
- The encryption key has been renewed for AACS, the copy protection system for Blu-ray Disc video content. If you see a message regarding encryption key renewal during playback of commercially available BD video software (BD-ROM), update the system software to the latest version. The encryption key will then be automatically renewed.
