PS4 Firmware v8.50 includes a number of bug fixes and improvements to the system, but also marks the end of Communities. The Communities feature was discontinued from the PlayStation App some time ago, and will soon be disabled on the PS4 too.

A number of new games have been added to PlayStation Now in the March 2021 update. Four new games are playable on demand as of 2nd March, including World War Z (time limited until September 2021) and InFamous Second Son, joining the hundreds of other PS4, PS3 and PS2 games on the service.

Sony has announced that it will longer offer movie and TV purchases and rentals through PlayStation Store as of August 31, 2021. The move is apparently due to a growth in PlayStation fans using subscription-based and ad-based entertainment streaming services on our consoles, instead of purchasing content to keep.

Destruction AllStars has been free to download for PlayStation Plus subscribers since it launched on 2nd February, but it won’t be around for long. The title leaves PlayStation Plus on 6th April 2021, when the PlayStation Plus line-up is refreshed, after which you’ll have to pay to download the game.

The PlayStation State of Play showcase last night gave gamers a new look at the long awaited Oddworld: Soulstorm, which is a remake of the second Oddworld game. The game will be heading to the PS4 and PS5 in April 2021, and the PS5 version will be free to PlayStation Plus subscribers.

A report by Bloomberg suggests that Sony is looking to open up the PS5’s for internal storage port this summer, allowing gamers to expand their console storage with M.2 SSD drives. The port will be enabled via a firmware update.

Sony’s State of Play broadcast last night ended with the announcement of Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade, which is the PS5 optimised version of Final Fantasy VII Remake. The announcement also included details of the game’s first paid DLC, featuring Yuffie.
