A major system software update is now available for the PlayStation Portal. Version v5.0.0 of the PS Portal System Software improves the cloud streaming functionality that was released in PS Portal System Software v4.0.0 back in November 2024.
The improvements include the ability to sort games in the Game Catalog, taking screenshots and videos while streaming a game, and other quality of life improvements.
You can update your PlayStation Portal by going to [Settings] > [System] > [System Software] > [Update System Software].

- We’ve added the following features to Cloud Streaming (Beta). You can now:
- Sort games in the Game Catalog.
- Take gameplay captures while streaming a game.
- Give feedback on your cloud streaming experience.
- Wait your turn to play when the streaming server is full.
- Receive a notification when your streaming game is about to close due to inactivity.
- Restore the license from Troubleshoot in the quick menu.
- We’ve added a sound effect for opening and closing the quick menu.
- We’ve improved system software performance and stability.
- We’ve improved the messages and usability on some screens.
