The PlayStation Portal has received a new major system software update, improving the system software and adding Cloud Streaming to the portable device. The update allows PlayStation Plus Premium members to play select streaming games for PS5 from the Game Catalog, without needing a PS5 connected.
The PS Portal system software update also includes improvements to the system performance and stability, and adjustments to the speaker volume level.
You can update your PlayStation Portal by going to [Settings] > [System] > [System Software] > [Update System Software].

- We’ve adjusted the volume level of the speaker.
- To connect to public networks, make sure that the initial setup for your PS Portal is completed.
- To comply with regulations for various countries and regions, PS Portal might not support connections to certain public networks, such as 5GHz networks.
- You can now change settings for your PS Link devices on PS Portal. Connect your PS Link device to your PS Portal, and in the quick menu, select Settings > PS Link Device.
- Cloud Streaming (Beta) is now available. PlayStation Plus Premium members can play select streaming games for PS5 from the Game Catalog. For more details, visit playstation.com/psportal-cgs-beta-device.
- We’ve improved system software performance and stability.
- We’ve improved the messages and usability on some screens.
