The PlayStation State of Play broadcast yesterday revealed a new trailer for Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, as well as announcing the official release date. The game will be exclusive to the PS5 and will be releasing in February 2024 on two discs.
A new three minute trailer, which you can watch below, shows off what you can expect from the game next year, including new areas to explore, synergy abilities with party members, and new playable characters. “The story will unfold more dramatically than ever before, with a rapid pace of major twists and turns,” according to Yoshinori Kitase, Producer on the game.
The game can be enjoyed as a standalone adventure, with the party leaving Midgar to explore the wide world beyond. But for those wishing to deepen their understanding of the story, a recap of the previous game will also be provided. Players will be able to explore the world map in free-roam, with side missions, mini-games and powerful monsters along the way, totalling nearly 100 hours of gameplay.
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will officially release on 29th February 2024 (leap day).
