As of PS5 Firmware v21.02-04.00.00, the internal M.2 SSD expansion slot can be used to expand the storage of your console with up to 4 TB of additional space. There are a number of PS5-compatible M.2 drives available (links below), and they only take a few minutes to install.

Using the PS5 M.2 SSD
Once your new M.2 SSD is installed, the PS5 will pick it up automatically and ask you to format it for first use. Once formatted, you’ll see the SSD under [Settings] > [Storage] and you’ll be able to use the drive to install new games or move existing games across.
