The PS3 has received new a minor firmware update, updating the system software to v4.88. In line with the PS Vita firmware, this update disables some PSN account management functionality on the console. This is the first update for the discontinued console in almost 12 months, with the last update back in June 2021.
You can find the release notes for the latest update below. You will need a minimum 200MB of free space on the PS3 Hard Disk Drive (or removal media) to download and install the update.
