Housemarque’s Returnal is coming to the PS5 next month, after short delay that was announced back in January. Ahead of the release, a new two-minute trailer for the game has been released, focusing on the game’s story and protagonist Selene, who crashes on an alien planet.
The game is a spin on the roguelike genre, which usually has players adopt the role of expendable avatars who simply pass the torch to their predecessor upon death. However, Selene is one character and as you venture from the crash site to explore Atropos over and over, she’ll stumble upon expired versions of herself, some left by other players (part of Returnal’s suite of online features).
The game combines third-person action with first-person segments, as seen in the above trailer. Retural will launch on PS5 on 30th April 2021.
