Although it’s only the middle of December and still ten days away from Christmas, UK retailers are starting to confirm no further PS5 stock until the New Year. Argos, for example, is informing customers that they will “not have any further stock for the rest of 2020”.
Other retailers like Amazon UK and GAME have been out of stock since the console launched on 19th November, but were able to offer limited number of purchases for delivery before Christmas. Currys PC World isn’t even listing the PS5 on the website at the moment.
Smyths Toys has also indicated on their website that the PS5 is now completely out of stock and further consoles are expected in January 2021. Anyone who managed to order one will see their console delivered by 18th December 2020.
If you were hoping to get hold of the console before the New Year, it seems that the resale market will be the best option. But with prices double or even triple the RRP, you will have to break the bank to get hold of one. Even Computer Exchange (CEX) is getting in on the action and selling the PS5 (disc edition) for £795, but is also offering £600 to anyone who wants to sell their PS5 too.
