The PS5 was released in the UK on 19th November, and from day one, players have experienced issues with some Ubisoft games. Players who own games like Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and Watch Dogs Legion experienced issues in upgrading the PS4 versions of the game to the PS5 versions.
Ten days on, Ubisoft have finally acknowledged the issues and are investigating. This was confirmed in a tweet posted by Ubisoft Support:
We are aware players in the UK are experiencing issues upgrading physical versions of some Ubisoft games from PS4 to PS5. We’re working to resolve this, and can confirm anyone experiencing this issue will still be eligible for their free upgrade. Stay tuned for more information.
It’s shame that it’s taken the company over 10 days to finally acknowledge the issue and work on a fix. Previously, Ubisoft was advising gamers to contact PlayStation Support to find a fix, but this tweet suggests that the issue may actually be on Ubisoft’s end.
Replies to the above tweet suggest that this issue is more widespread than the UK. Similar issues from users in France, South Africa, Canada and other countries have been reported. There’s no ETA on a fix so players will have to wait a little longer for their free upgrades.
