Game Presets is a new a feature to the PS5 that allows gamers to set their default settings, which supported games can then use and apply. For example, you can set the default game difficulty, so any supported game you play will use this as the default difficulty level, unless you then change it.
This also applies to performance settings – you can choose Performance Mode or Resolution Mode. With Performance Mode, the game will be optimised for speed with better frame rates, while Resolution Mode will improve the quality and allow better resolutions, like 4K.
The Game Preset options also go further, allowing you to customise preferences for first-person views and third-person views, allowing you to set the default invert options. Subtitle and audio options can be configured too.
It should be noted that not all games will support these presets, but for games that do, it will easier and quicker to get going.
This article will be updated as more information on Game Presets become available.
