Ubisoft has delayed two of it’s upcoming games this week, following an earnings call. Far Cry 6 was officially announced in a Ubisoft Forward event back in July and was scheduled for release in February 2021, but this has been pushed back to after March 2021.
Rainbow Six: Quarantine was expected to release this year, but has also been pushed back to after April 2021. No new date has been given for either of the games, but the earnings call indicates that the game will release sometime after April 2021, but before end of March 2022.
The main reason for the delay is due to challenges caused by COVID-19. But the earning call also suggests that Ubisoft want to make the most of their existing portfolio as we head into Christmas and the inevitable boost in sales that comes with it.
