The PS5 will support remote play via the Desktop and Mobile apps. Both apps were recently updated to add in the option to connect to the PS5, ahead of the console’s launch. You will need to enable Remote Play on the PS5 and sign-in to your PSN account before it will work.
It is unclear is the PS Vita will be updated to allow the portable console to connect to the PS5, however.
The PS5 can also stream PS4 games from the PS4 using Remote Play, which means you can access your existing games on the PS5. This feature is especially useful if you have a PS5 Digital Edition and want to play disc-based PS4 games, but streamed games won’t benefit from the PS5’s quick loading and other enhancements.
For the PS5, the maximum resolution will be capped to 1080p, which means you won’t be able to remotely play games in 4K – this makes sense as the bandwidth required to stream 4K will mean a seriously fast connection will be required with minimum lag.
