In an interview with The Washington Post, Sony Interactive Entertainment CEO and President Jim Ryan revealed more information about the PS5 backwards compatibility. The news comes following the announcement of the PlayStation Plus Collection in the PS5 Showcase.
In the interview, Ryan confirmed that of the thousands of PS4 games tested for backwards compatibility, “99 percent” can be played on the PS5. Some of the PS4’s biggest games were announced as being compatible with the PS5 at launch, which will form the PlayStation Plus Collection.
The curated collection of 18 PS4 games will be available to play at launch of the PS5, and will be available to PlayStation Plus subscribers at no extra cost. The collection will include the following titles:
- Bloodborne
- Monster Hunter World
- Final Fantasy XV
- Fallout 4
- Mortal Kombat X
- Uncharted 4
- Ratchet & Clank
- Days Gone
- Until Dawn
- Detroit: Become Human
- Infamous: Second Son
- Batman Arkham Knight
- The Last Guardian
- The Last of Us Remastered
- Persona 5
- Resident Evil VII
- God of War
- Battlefield 1
