Bungie has announced a delay to the release of Destiny 2 expansion Beyond Light, which is the first of three new expansion packs coming to the game. Destiny 2: Beyond Light will now be releasing on 10th November 2020, and the Season of Arrivals will be extended to fill the gap.
The reason for the delay is due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which has made the development of the expansion more challenging. A statement from Bungie reads:
The past few months have been a challenge and will continue to be during this pandemic. We’ve learned to create together in a new way, by having to work apart from one another. Despite these hurdles, we’re still committed to the same level of quality that our fans expect.
As the new expansions release, Bungie will remove older content from the game to make room for newer content. After the Beyond Light expansion, the next two are The Witch Queen and Lightfall.
