After Spider-Man; Miles Morales was first released at the PS5 event last week, gamers were speculating whether this was a standalone game or an expansion of the original. Sony has now confirmed that it will be a standalone game, built on the foundations of the the first title.
Simon Rutter, Sony Interactive Entertainment EVP head of European Business, explained to The Telegraph that the game isn’t a full on sequel, but has been designed to take advantage of the PS5 hardware and features.
Jason Schreier from Bloomberg says the game is like Uncharted: Lost Legacy, which was smaller in size than Uncharted: A Thief’s End, but a full game in its own right.
“In truth, Spider-Man: Miles Morales is not an expansion or enhancement but a new video game, the person said, comparing it to Uncharted Lost Legacy, a game from Naughty Dog Inc. that was smaller in size and scope than a mainline Uncharted title. Uncharted Lost Legacy sold for $40 rather than the standard $60, and Spider-Man: Miles Morales is expected to follow a similar path.”
