The PS5’s unique elements are still to be revealed, according to a recent interview with Sony Interactive Entertainment president and CEO Jim Ryan. Speaking to Business Insider Japan, Ryan also revealed that the console would launch in Japan alongside the West.
In terms of what sets the PS5 apart from the competition, we already know that the console will feature a solid-state hard drive, helping to reduce load times to “next to nothing”. And that the DualShock 5 controller will feature haptic feedback and adaptive triggers to make games feel even more immersive. The PS5 is also said to be backwards compatible with the PS4.
As for the other differences, Ryan has the following to say in the interview:
“There are still more unique elements for PlayStation 5 to come that separate it from previous consoles. The ‘bigger differences’ have yet to be announced”
What other unique features could the PS5 have in store? Could it be that the DualShock 5 will feature the rumoured LCD screen, despite recent leaks suggesting otherwise.
