Just over a month after Naughty Dog finally revealed the release date for The Last of Us Part II to be 21st February 2020. It now transpires that the game been delayed by a few months.
Naughty Dog has confirmed that The Last of Us Part II has been delayed to 29th May 2020. The reason for the delay is to allow enough time for the developers to “bring the entire game up to a level of polish [they] would call Naughty Dog quality.”
Rather than release a sub-par version of the game, Naughty Dog opted to delay the release of the game to allow the team to “finish everything to [their] level of satisfaction while also reducing stress on the team.”
A full statement was released on the PlayStation Blog by Neil Druckman, Creative Director at Naughty Dog.
