Sony has revealed that it will not be attending the E3 event in Los Angeles, which will be taking place in June 2019. This is the first time in the 24 year history of the event that Sony will not be attending, leaving its two biggest competitors to make the most of the event.
A statement was issued to Game Informer, and Sony will be instead “exploring new and familiar ways to engage [their] community in 2019.” With Sony absent, will Microsoft and Nintendo take advantage of the show even more than usual?
The exact reasons why Sony is choosing not to attend E3 next year is unclear, but there could be a number of reason. If Sony is prepping the next generation console to succeed the PS4, it may be that the new console is still some way off from being ready to be released.
