The Sims has not seen a released on PlayStation since The Sims 3 was released back in 2009 on the PS3. Over 8 years on, The Sims 4 is soon to be released on the PS4, and new details have emerged on just what it will contain. The good news is that the game will include “almost everything” that the PC version has enjoyed over the past few years: DLC, updates and ghosts.
The PC version has received four expansion packs over the years, including Cats & Dogs, City Living, and Get to Work. But it’s currently unclear if all of these packs will be included in the base game or as DLC. The pre-order options of the game have already made it clear that content and “stuff” packs will be paid DLC.
The game remains largely the same as previous versions: you create a home, control a character (or family), and control every aspect of your life as a Sim. Be it seducing the girl next door or getting your dream job as a computer programmer. You can make friends, find love, get married, have children and watch them grow.
The Touch Pad on the DualShock 4 will be used extensively on the PS4 version, acting as the player’s liaison between the game world and the all-encompassing UI. Unfortunately, no screenshots have been released on exactly how this will look and work. On the PC, the mouse in particular was a vital part of the controls.
The Sims 4 launches November 17 on PS4.
