As reported back in March, production of the PS3 in Japan has now ended, with the final shipment now “complete”. Sony Japan has confirmed that the console is no longer in production, freeing up capacity for the PS4, PS4 Pro and PS VR.
The PS3 was first released back in 2006 in Japan and North America, followed by PAL territories in March 2007. It’s been over 10 years, effectively ending its 10-year life cycle.
