The London Mayor, Boris Johnson, has announced a brand new, large scale gaming event to rival Gamescom, E3 and the Tokyo Games Show. The London Games Festival will take place between from 1st to 10th April 2016, and will include 15 official events, across 10 locations throughout the capital.
The announcement was made in a cool Minecraft-themed video with the London Mayor appearing as a character in the game. Check it out below:

The festival will include:
- Now Play This – held at Sumerset House, and running for the first three days, this exhibition focuses on games both digital and physical, with a programme featuring talks, performances, and workshops designed to get newcomers interested and engaged in games development.
- Rezzed – a indie and PC games convention, now part of London Games Festival, will be held from 7th to 9th April at Tobacco Dock.
- Games Finance Market – running from 5th to 7th April, this event will give developers the chance to meet investors. It “seeks to match ambitious, innovative games-making talent with international funders.”
Other events are still to be confirmed, but with a 10-day festival, you’re sure to find something to enjoy.
