As we approach the PS4’s one year anniversary in mid-November, Sony has released their latest financial results. The report shows that Sony has sold 13.5 million PS4 consoles in just under a year globally, but the company has posted an overall loss.
While the Video Game side of Sony has shown significant profit thanks to the PS4, the mobile phone side of things has let Sony down.
Sony has also announced that PlayStation Plus now has 7.9 million subscribers across all consoles, which is relatively lower considering the number of PS4s it’s sold. The release of the PS4 helped increase PlayStation Plus subscriptions by 90% said Sony CEO Kaz Hirai at an investors’ meeting earlier today.
