Sony’s new Share Play feature is coming to the PS4 as part of Firmware v2.0, which is scheduled for release sometime in the Autumn. However, new information about the feature has come to light, which confirms that Share Play sessions will be limited to 60 minutes per session. But, there is no limit in how many sessions a player can have.
In theory, this means that you can jump right back into another session one the previous one has ended, and hopefully continue where you left off. How this will work with games remains to be seen.
The time limit was confirmed to GameSpot following an earlier report on French website Gameblog. Sony has declined to comment on the issue, and it’s odd that such a limit exists in the first place. We speculate that it’s there to encourage players to pay for the full version of the game.
