The release date for DRIVECLUB on the PS4 has finally been revealed. The game was originally expected to be a launch title, but was later delayed to give the game an extra layer of polish. Several months on, a release date has finally been revealed: October 7th 2014.
The new release date means the game the game is just under 11 months delayed. Evolution Studios wanted the game to release in early 2014 after the initial delay, but the team needed extra time to make the game what it is.
The studio didn’t reveal the exact details of the delay, but did announce the appointment of a new Game Director: Paul Rustchynsky. Rustchynsky has been the helm of DRIVECLUB since February 2014, and was Previously Game Director on critically acclaimed MotorStorm RC.
The game is still expected to come free as part of the PlayStation Plus Instant Game Collection when it launches, albeit with some restrictions compared to the full version of the game.
