Following the NPD figures released earlier this month, Sony has revealed the latest PS4 sales figures. As of February 8th 2014, the PS4 has sold an estimated 5.3 million units around the world – an increase of 1.1 million units since December 28th.
The NPD figures revealed that of the 1.1 million units sold this year, around 250-300k came in America during January, which means the remaining sales came in the EU and Asia. Sony has also yet to launch in Japan, which happens later this week, on February 22nd 2014.
Andrew House, President and Group CEO of SCEI, added in the press release that “the PS4 system’s momentum just keeps growing stronger, and we are extremely grateful for the continued passion and support of PlayStation fans.”
