Sony has revealed that the PlayStation brand is making a big turnaround this generation in the UK, with the PS4 outselling the Xbox One at 3:2 ratio. Sony’s UK MD Fergal Gara talked of Sony’s wish to reclaim the UK market in a press conference this morning.
The last generation saw the Xbox 360 outsell the PS3 at 1.51:1 in the UK, but the PS4 is doing well in comparison, outselling the Xbox One at 1.5:1 ratio. Sony also reiterated the massive uptake of PlayStation Plus since the launch of the PS4, partly due to the online play requirement, and also the value of the service.
Gara also repeated the 4.2 million sales figure for the PS4 worldwide, and are still fighting to meet full demand for the console. The console is yet to release in Japan, which is scheduled for late February.
