Sony’s PS4 launch has largely gone off without a hitch, selling over one million units in the first 24 hours. A very impressive milestone considering the console is only currently available in North America. The 1 million units is actually the number of consoles in the hands of customers, and not the number of units shipped.
The PlayStation 4 releases in Europe in just under two weeks time, on November 29th, and could double this figure if this go well across the pond. Regular shipments of PS4 units will continue to roll out in North America, further adding to this figure. It will be interesting to see what the total sales in the first 30-days will add up to.
PS4 has sold through over 1 million units within 24 hours of the launch in North America!!! 😀

Now, it’s all about Microsoft’s Xbox One launch this Friday to see if it impacts Sony’s PS4 sales. Will the Xbox One be able to match or exceed the PS4’s first-day sales in North America? The console is launching simultaneously in North America and Europe, so the chances are very likely.
