Trophies on the PlayStation 4 will now include a “rarity” metric, letting you easily see how rare a trophy is. The trophy rarity level will let gamers easily identify which trophies are easy to obtain, while also giving an indication on how many people have played or completed each game. The small detail was revealed by Engadget, who also detail some of the other features of the PS4, including “guest” accounts.
The “rarity” feature will be limited to trophies from PS4 games, but trophies unlocked on the PS3 or PS Vita will be visible on the PS4.
Other small details from the Engadget article:
- PS4’s party chat supports up to 8 players, who can do whatever they want on their console, while chatting together. You can also have multiple chat parties running at the same time.
- Gameplay streaming include a “standby screen”, which viewers will see if you decide to take a break. There’s also an “on-air” indicator in the dashboard to let you know when you’re live streaming.
- Double-tapping the PS button will take you to the last-used app. Useful if you want to seamlessly switch between playing a game and reading it’s walkthrough.
- “Guest” accounts let you access your content on other consoles, and wipes all data once you’re done, including PSN ID, data and sensitive information.
- USB devices can be powered by the console even when it’s in stand-by mode. This will let you charge the controller without having to keep the console switched on.
