The online component to GTA V – known as GTA Online – launches next week, on October 1st, and Rockstar are working hard to make sure they have enough servers up and running to handle the significant number of gamers playing the game. Rockstar has revealed that, in addition to all the open-world activities, there will also be dedicated missions and races to enjoy.
Open-world activities includes movies, the shooting range or mountain biking, and various criminal activities such as robbing convenience stores, taking down gangs and even stealing from armoured trucks. You can take part in street, off-road, sea and even aerial races. And a new rally mode where a driver and co-pilot have to work together. The sports also translate over to multiplayer, including tennis, golf and base jumping, all of which add to your reputation and cash.
Rockstar will also use your feedback in order to grow and evolve the game. You can give feedback either by sending it to the dedicated email address, which is GTAOnline@rockstargames.com or by posting it on the Social Club forums.
Over the next few weeks, Rockstar will be focusing on fixing any glitches and making sure the game is completely balanced, but will also be adding more content too, including:
- The Content Creator: The Content Creator will launch with tools to tailor and publish your own Deathmatches & Races.
- The Beach Bum Pack: Featuring 4 new amazing beach fun vehicles, over 300 new items of incredible down tempo leisure wear and 2 new but not remotely relaxing weapons.
- Capture the Flag: GTA Online’s take on the classic CTF mode including the ability to make your own using The Content Creator.
- Heists: This update will introduce full-on cooperative Heist missions that will require careful planning, teamwork and sharp execution – along with the Heist Planning Board for your apartment.
